Some colours just look right in chikankari, and this is one of them: a deep, true black that makes white chikankari glow, on chanderi, every stitch by hand.
Chanderi is a sheer, lightweight silk-cotton weave from Madhya Pradesh with a soft, glassy sheen that catches the light as you move. It is the fabric of festive chikankari — light enough for the weather, luminous enough for the occasion.
Every motif on this piece was embroidered by hand in Lucknow, the home of chikankari. Look closely at the reverse side and you'll see the shadow-work that machines cannot reproduce.
Pairs with jeans, palazzos or a long skirt.

- Dry clean or very gentle hand wash; never wring.
- Gentle hand wash in cold water, separately for the first wash
- Mild detergent; no bleach
- Do not wring — press out water and dry flat or on a hanger in the shade
- Iron on the reverse on a low setting, never directly on the embroidery
