Some colours just look right in chikankari, and this is one of them: a warm, sandy beige, on khadi, every stitch by hand.
Khadi is cotton that has been spun and woven by hand, so it has a gentle slub and texture that machine-made fabric never quite manages. It breathes, it softens with wear, and it carries the hand embroidery like it was made for it — because it was.
Every motif on this piece was embroidered by hand in Lucknow, the home of chikankari. Look closely at the reverse side and you'll see the shadow-work that machines cannot reproduce.

Care
- Gentle hand wash in cold water, separately for the first wash
- Mild detergent; no bleach
- Do not wring — press out water and dry flat or on a hanger in the shade
- Iron on the reverse on a low setting, never directly on the embroidery
