Rayon is soft, fluid and breathable, with a gentle drape that skims rather than clings. It is easy to wear all day, easy to wash, and it keeps the embroidery crisp — a workday kurta that still looks like an occasion.

Chikankari is Lucknow's white-thread shadow embroidery, stitched entirely by hand — no two pieces are identical, and that is the point. On rayon the stitches sit softly against the weave rather than on top of it.

Care

• Gentle hand wash in cold water, separately for the first wash
• Mild detergent; no bleach
• Do not wring — press out water and dry flat or on a hanger in the shade
• Iron on the reverse on a low setting, never directly on the embroidery
